FAQS

Q. HOW DOES HOUSE CALL GROOMING WORK?

A. Once we set up a time, date, and paperwork is filled out, it is time for grooming! I will bring all the tools and equipment I need to bathe, dry, and groom your dog.

Q. IS MY HOME A GOOD FIT FOR HOUSE CALLS?

A. More than likely! I require:

  • 6x6 space for my table

  • Warm running water (sink, shower, walk-in shower)

  • Large dogs are preferred to have a tub in the home. A portable tub can be provided by me if necessary.

  • Please also consider where I will be able to park my car. Parking further than a block makes it difficult to transport my equipment.

Q. WHAT ABOUT CLEAN-UP? ISN'T DOG GROOMING MESSY?

A. I will bring my vacuum and any cleaning supplies I need to leave your home, for the most part, the same way I found it. Please, make sure the space is clear of any trash, spills, clothes or any miscellaneous items that may get in the way of clean up.

In some instances, usually with double coated dogs, hair may settle on the ground after I leave. This is normal.

Q. CAN I CHECK IN ON MY PET?

A. 1000%, especially during the bathing process. Once scissors start to get involved I just ask that give your pet and me enough space for us to focus on each other.

Q: DEPOSITS AND LATE CANCELLATIONS

A. First-time clients will be required to put down a deposit (20% of service requested) that will go towards their service. Reminders will be sent out 2 days in advance. Appointments canceled less than 24 hours before the time of service will not receive a refund for the deposit. Deposits can roll over once in cases of emergency. Two cancellations in a row will not be booked going forward.

Q: DO YOU TAKE AGGRESSIVE OR NERVIOUS PETS?

A. It is very understandable when a pet bites for certain parts of the grooming, blow-drying, nail clipping, or brushing.

Pets who are nervous about grooming remind me why I love doing what I do. One of my specialties is making this process painless and a little less scary for your pet. I've had so many great turn arounds in my career.

However, extremely territorial pets or overly shy pets that bring it point of biting before the grooming process will be denied service and subject to a cancellation fee. I do not recommend house calls for pets who express this type of behavior.

Q. DO I NEED TO BE PRESENT?

A. It is required that you are present for the first visit so I can meet you, your pet and be shown to the space in which you prefer me to groom in.

It is preferred going forward that you are present for the initial part of the grooming as well. If you need to leave the house it is preferred that payment is settled beforehand.

Q. WHAT WILL YOU BE BRINGING INTO MY HOME?

Depending on your home and the size of your pet. I will always bring my rolling bag, a backpack, and grooming table.

I will also bring a portable tub if necessary.

Q. DO YOU DO FLEA TREATMENTS?

I do not provide flea baths. Since I go home to home I have to be mindful of the environment I am entering and the cleanliness of my tools.

It is the owner's responsibility to use the proper methods to prevent fleas and ticks, especially as the summer approaches.

There will be a $30 cleaning charge if fleas are found on a pet. (Seen in agreement form, "Click Here")

Q. HOW DO YOU PRACTICE SAFETY WITH COVID?

While mask mandates are lifted in Massachusetts, if it is preferred by the owner that a mask is worn, I am happy to do so.

I am also vaccinated against COVID.

Q. WHAT MAKES YOU QUALIFIED TO BE A PET GROOMER?
